The AI (Hackathon) Challenge 2025, organised by the Singapore Institute of Architects - Young Architects League (SIA-YAL) in collaboration with the Singapore Institute of Architects - Digital Technology Committee (SIA-DTC), concluded successfully after a three-month journey (Mar – May 2025).
This ground-up initiative aimed to upskill young architects and built environment professionals in AI and data-driven technologies through a series of hybrid workshops, collaborative group discussions, and development sprints.
Under the theme “Integrate and Automate: A Transformative AI Learning Journey”, participants tackled practical, self-defined topics ranging from design, regulatory checks, and contract management to construction coordination and site inspection topics.
Participants explored AI-assisted solutions, shared open-source scripts and tools, and contributed to a growing Community of Practice (CoP) by documenting and sharing their solution-building processes.
The event has featured six touchpoints, including four live group sessions and two submission milestones. Participants shared AI-assisted solutions and learning resources openly through live demonstration and sharing, with BOA-SIA CPD points awarded to interested participants.
Top entries will be featured at ArchiFest 2025 on 27 June (Fri), 4:30–6:00 PM at Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Hall C, Level 1.
